Falcon Hill Pottery fermentation crocks are designed and hand thrown by Joe Servais. The crock has a gutter in the rim that when filled with water will create an airlock, preventing the development of surface molds. The lid has a notch to allow gases to escape during the fermentation process. Each crock includes ceramic weights that keep the fermenting food inside submerged.
Joe sells fermentation crocks at the Vista Farmers Market every Saturday. Write to Joe (see Contact page) for a custom order form. Crock prices range between $75 to $100 dollars depending on the size. All orders should be picked up at the Vista Farmers Market. Joe is not currently shipping product.
